The APVMA is currently reassessing anticoagulant rodenticides due to:
• Environmental risks: Detected in native carnivores (e.g., marsupials, barn owls), threatened
vertebrates, and pork
• Secondary poisoning: Risks to children, pets, and non-target species
• Human health concerns: Especially around liquid and concentrated bait formulations
